The sun is shining, and you’re on staycation in Ireland – it’s a perfect time to pick a spot to eat outside, to get the best of the Irish summer – and there are plenty to choose from! Here are our current favourites…

The River Club Cork

The Terrace of the River Club, right on the River Lee in Cork, is just the perfect spot for a relaxed lunch or evening meal. The decor is slick, the food is locally sourced and so tasty,  and the service is always top class. We find ourselves returning here again and again! It’s a popular spot, so bookings are advised. Their cocktails are also superb – the Manhattan is our tipple of choice!

Moran's of the Weir

This 300-year-old thatched cottage is located on a small country lane in Galway, on the banks of the Kilcolgan River. It’s a famous destination for the best seafood around – Oysters are their speciality, in particular the Galway flat oyster, and we can promise you won’t be disappointed! Its simple decor and quaint atmosphere belie a superb restaurant at the top of their game. Worth the detour – you won’t regret it!

Angelina's Dublin

This is one of our little secrets – this popular restaurant has a beautiful terrace on the banks of the Grand Canal, the perfect spot to while away a few hours, luxuriating over a top-class lunch and perhaps a glass of rose or two. Outdoor dining spots with a setting like this are hard to find in Dublin, so put it on your list! Oh, and the Parmesan Italian Fries are just to die for!
